Hurricane Humberto was still at it for day ten. Kel and I headed back to Gougane Barra to Cronin’s Café for lunch. Again, it was delicious. While we ate, the wedding party was departing the Hotel Gougane Barra.
We couldn’t get to St. Finbar’s Oratory and its island because of the flooding from the hurricane. This is what caused the wedding change of plans in my previous post. But this is a picture of the church.
The parents of Kel’s Irish language teacher, Jane, own the Hotel Gougane Barra. With the wedding party departing and hotel closing for the season soon, Kel and I had a chance to chat with Neil and Katy along with Jane’s grandmother, Breda. Jane’s sister, Ali, is a huge Harry Potter fan, but we didn’t have a lot of time to chat. We left with brown bread, soup, and scones.
On the way home, he caught a break in the rain and stopped by St. Gobnait’s holy well.
