Day 13 was a drive up to County Sligo, Riverstown. Along the way, we stopped at Strandhill, which is on the Atlantic coast. I stepped out of the car, and the wind-blown drizzle stung my face. Under an overcast sky, Kel and I walked around a place of unexpected sights.
Several teenagers were taking surf lessons out of a local surf shop in the cold water.
The beach and ocean lay on one side of a walking path, and a links golf course was on the other side.
We walked around various shops, including an old-style video/pinball arcade. Then, we stopped by a busy diner-like restaurant overlooking the ocean and grabbed hot soup, which we appreciated. Not only was it delicious, but it was also warm and filling. We continued looking around shops and found the best hot chocolate. It had marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate drizzle.
I almost had a second one.
We arrived at Ross Farmhouse B&B and met Nicholas, Oriel, Gemma and her son, Sam.
We settled in for an evening of Tipping Point and The Chase.
