After the latest mass gun violence in Orlando, Fl, many, including significant portion of our representatives, declared that guns kill people; therefore, we need to ban/severely limit guns.
I’ve seen many arguments for banning guns on social media as well as news channels. House Democrats, channeling their inner hippies, performed a sit-in on the floor of the House of Representatives because the cold-hearted Republican leadership wouldn’t allow them to vote on the gun bills that the Senate failed to pass earlier. (Read: futile gesture–complete waste of time) Apparently, these Democrats felt that reliving the good old days of ’60s was a constructive solution. Though, things have changed since then. Now, the hippies are in charge, wearing suits and eating catered meals. (Yeah, a catered sit-in)
What I haven’t seen, however, is science applied to the premise that guns kill people. Many Democrats declare that Republicans are anti-science because they believe God created everything or that climate-change isn’t occurring. Perhaps science can determine the validity of the premise that guns kill people.
